Genetics Terms Modeling Assignment

Create an analogy:
Bike.
The instructions as a whole would be the DNA, one part of the instructions (for example, how to assemble the seat would be the Gene. The Nucleotides would be a letter in a word in the instructions. A chromosome would be the plastic bag that the directions come in.
EXPLANATION:
The instructions would be the DNA because DNA determines characteristics/ how the bike will be.
A part of the instructions would be the Gene because all the parts together would make the DNA/ or full instructions.
A letter would be the nucleotides because ( nucleotides make up Genes) or letters make up words.
The plastic bag would be the chromosome because chromosomes are wrapped around protein. The plastic bag covers instructions.

This model is a good one because like DNA, the play book shows the instruction or the plays and how they work. DNA has instructions for making protein. The playbook in coaches truck is a good model for a chromosomes because DNA is the playbook while the coaches truck is the protein. Coaches truck are used to hold play books like proteins are used to organized DNA in chromosomes. One play is a good model for a gene because gene has the instruction for making one protein like a play has instructions for one play. Finally, one player in a play is a good model for a nucleotide because a nucleotide is a single molecule that functions as a building block of DNA. A player in a play is one building block of a word.

ReplyDeleteDirections on a package are a chromesome, the package is DNA one step is a gene and one word is a nucleotide. This works because directions like DNA tell you how things should turn out . The instructions are a good model for a chromesome because the instructions are the DNA while the package is the protein.

The whole sandwich is a chromosome. The hamburger is DNA. The ingredients is a nucleotide. The secimiseeds are the genes. This is a good example because I can visualize it and all the parts depending on how important they are. 😊
The box with the recipe on it is the chromosome , the taco is the DNA, and the taco meat and everything that makes up the taco is the nucleotide. This model is a good one because the taco has different parts to it like a DNA model. The box with the instructions is like a gene because it has instructions to make protein. The nucleotide is building blocks to DNA so it's different parts to the taco such as meat, cheese, lettuce,tomatoes, etc. Lastly, the chromosome is taking the food to another room to eat it because its the taco on the plate (protein) and is took to another room.

A bow is a chromosome, the limbs is DNA. A arrow is the gene and the fibers in the string is the nucleotide. This model is a good one because like DNA the arrow has the instructions for making protein. The bow itself is a good model for chromosomes because the DNA is the bow while the wheels is the protein. The wheels make the bow work like proteins and DNA in chromosomes. The arrow is a good model for gene because the gene has the instructions for making one protein like a arrow has the instructions to kill a deer. finally , the fibers in the string is a good model for a nucleotide because a nucleotide is a single molecule that functions as a building block of DNA.
